Selection of "Anti-Cancer Stars": "Life Affects Life"

——Fuli Hospital's "Anti-Cancer Star" Project: Let hope spread like sparks

At the International Cancer Center of Guangzhou R&F Hospital, fighting cancer is not only a medical battle, but also a resonance of the soul. The monthly "Anti-Cancer Star" selection allows the life stories of those who bloom among the thorns to become the light that illuminates others.

Every story is a ray of light

"Stars" are not necessarily healers, but every brave ordinary person:

  • A 78-year-old Vietnamese grandmother insisted on painting a flower outside the ward window every day, compiling the "Garden of Life" album for 365 days;

  • A teenager in Dubai used his chemotherapy breaks to write code and designed a "Little Injection Warrior" game for child patients;

  • A single mother in the Philippines recorded "Good Morning Cheer Song" in 30 languages and played it in the wards in the early morning... Their stories will be made into multilingual posters and posted on the "Starlight Wall" in the corridor.

How to become an anti-cancer star?

No threshold for nomination: patients, family members, and medical staff can all submit stories (text/video/painting), and the AI translation system makes 38 languages accessible; the selection has nothing to do with the severity of the disease, but only focuses on "how do you make hope grow"

● Evaluation aspects:

  • Medal of Courage: An optimistic attitude towards treatment (such as the Saudi Arabian uncle who tells jokes during chemotherapy);

  • Wisdom Medal: Innovative ways to fight cancer (such as the Indonesian girl who designed an IV stand with 3D printing);

  • Star Medal: Helping other patients (such as a Japanese grandmother teaching African children Tai Chi).

Award Ceremony: Applause for You

The awards ceremony is held on the last Friday of each month:

  • Customized star-shaped medal with a personal quote on it

  • Celebrity families receive "Anniversary Package" - professional photography team takes family photos

  • The celebrity stories were adapted into a 3-minute short film, which was broadcast simultaneously within the hospital and on the global official website

The stories of those stars fighting cancer

Desert Rose: Haifa's "Headscarf Aesthetics"

A Dubai flight attendant who lost her hair to breast cancer designed an Arabic-style chemotherapy headscarf out of silk and taught patients from 23 countries to weave IV tubes into headdress chains. Her acceptance speech: "A bald head is not a defect, it is another kind of crown."

Game Boy: Akira's "Chemotherapy Breakout"

  • A 12-year-old osteosarcoma patient turns every treatment into a game — having his blood drawn is “collecting power gems” and having radiation therapy is “battle the tumor monster.” The cartoon he drew, “A Cancer Warrior’s Guide,” was made into a manual for use throughout the hospital.

  • A 78-year-old Vietnamese grandmother insisted on painting a flower outside the ward window every day, compiling the "Garden of Life" album for 365 days;

  • A teenager in Dubai used his chemotherapy breaks to write code and designed a "Little Injection Warrior" game for child patients;

  • A single mother in the Philippines recorded the "Good Morning Song" in 30 languages and played it in the ward in the morning...

  • Their stories will be made into multilingual posters and posted on the "Star Wall" in the corridor.

A star lights up the sky every month.

Here, we believe: one soul awakens another soul, and one courage ignites millions of courages. When a Thai girl pinned the medal of a cancer-fighting star on her chemotherapy pump, and when a father pointed to the wall of stars and said to his children, "Look, these people can do it, so can we" - this is the most beautiful way of life influencing life.
