Weekly Tea Party: Healing starts with listening
The coffee corner on Thursday afternoons is always filled with warmth. Mohammed from Egypt talks about the starry sky of his desert hometown, and Aunt Lin from Singapore shares her granddaughter's childhood stories. The psychological counselor quietly incorporated "anti-cancer experience" and "emotional management" into the topic, allowing encouragement to flow naturally.
Creative Workshop: The joy of creating with your own hands
"Look! My clay vase is taller than the chemotherapy pump!" The club's craft classes are always full of surprises: tie-dyed scarves, collages, miniature landscape potted plants...
Ms. Kim, a Korean patient, said with a smile: "The three hours of focusing on kneading clay was the first time in six months that I forgot the pain."
Music Healing Night: Music notes drive away the haze
On every full-moon night, the Rehabilitation Garden is transformed into an open-air concert hall. A Filipino nurse played the guitar, a Russian patient sang "Katyusha", and a child undergoing chemotherapy shook a maraca to accompany the music. As the song floated across the Pearl River, some people quietly wiped away their tears, and more people smiled at each other.
Outdoor Therapy Program: Embrace the Greenery of Life
Patients who are physically able will make plans for an "energy outing": sketching by the Pearl River, making leaf rubbings in the botanical garden, and experiencing tea picking and frying in the tea garden. Medical staff carried medical kits throughout the process, making the mountains and rivers a natural healing place.
Here, fellow patients are each other's light. When Aisha from Malaysia taught a Syrian girl how to braid her hair, and when a Brazilian uncle pushed a Japanese old man's wheelchair to dance samba, we saw: what is more tenacious than cancer is the warmth between people.
